Vancouver Event | Cirque Du Soleil – Kooza

Well after hundreds, maybe thousands of hints towards Jamie about how much I wanted to go to the Cirque Du Soleil in Vancouver I think he finally caught on. The other day he showed up with an envelope with some Kooza tickets inside and I just had to share all of my excitement with you! I came home and Jamie handed me a piece of paper and said “look at the advertisement we got in the mail” so I took this piece of paper that is advertising Kooza (thinking it was just a mean tease L) and I looked at the front and back and said “wow they really are advertising this lots this time aren’t they” and then I put it down. Then it clued into me… “Is this a ticket?!?” So cute, Jamie just smiled J For those of you who have never been you have to check the show out; if you are ever in Vegas there are many different shows to choose from. New Westminster Wedding Photography | Yuki & Shogo

Yuki and Shogo’s wedding was so much fun and filled with so much love. We had first met with Shogo last year and when he told us the plans for the wedding (outside in the rose garden) we knew it was going to be a great wedding. The night before the wedding everyone, especially Yuki and Shogo, were so worried it was going to rain the next day (well this is what our weather man had said anyways). Lucky for everyone when Saturday came the skies cleared up and they had a beautiful sunny day, the ceremony was perfect!

After a few family pictures in the garden we headed to Rocky Point for some formal pictures. Everyone is so picture perfect and the flower girl was sooo adorable. Then it was time to change up the location and head down to a more funky place. We had so much fun here too – the guys were up for anything including jumping off a loading dock The reception was held at the Centennial Lodge and was filled with family and friends having a great time. And there were a few things planned that even the bride didn’t know about… The night was filled with tearful speeches and heartfelt gestures from their guests. Yuki’s grandmother treated the guests to a traditional Japanese dance – it was absolutely amazing! Then there was a very emotional flower ceremony… so beautiful. And my favorite part of the night, Shogo sang to his beautiful bride. It was fantastic! He pulled her on the dance floor (she had no idea he was going to do this by the way) and sang his version of “I could not ask for more”. I just love these two!!! Yuki’s sister and her daughter also had a surprise of there own as they put on a Michael Jackson number for the bride and groom that was so perfect, right down to some traditional Michael Jackson moves:) And if you thought that was all, nope, some of their friends and family put together a band and rehearsed especially for Yuki and Shogo’s wedding. Now that is true friendship…. Everyone was so filled with joy to see these to marry and it was an absolute joy for us to photograph. Yuki and Shogo, we wish you an eternity of happiness and thank you for allowing us to be a part of your day!

We know we haven’t posted in a bit, but that’s because we were on vacation!!! We had a great time (pictures to come soon ), but now we are back and ready for what life is gonna bring us.

First up we wanted to share with you a family session we did not long before we went away. Meet the Sarvis’s. This family is so adorable! When we first met up with them they walked over to us in matching outfits!!!! And I loved it We started at a cute little water park (no water yet though) and then headed down to the beach. Jr (their son) absolutely loved looking out at the water and Michaela (their daughter) was so excited to go play in the park after the session (of course we had to get some pictures of that too). Thank you again for letting us document your awesome family, we had a great time

Port Coquitlam Portrait Photography | Megin

Jamie and I recently had the pleasure of meeting Megin, who is such a wonderful person just to know – she does so much for the people around her and she is just a kind and generous person. She is supported by a great group of family & friends, who Megin absolutely adores, and I love this about her.

Not only does Megin foster some children, but she also does some work with volunteer programs in the Philippines – Global Volunteer Network (GVN) http://www.globalvolunteernetwork.org/ & Meaningful Volunteer (MV) http://www.meaningfulvolunteer.org/.

With such a great person to photograph we wanted to pick a location that would capture the spirit of Megin and when Jamie and I came across this place we instantly new it would be perfect for her. Megin knew exactly how to pose in front the camera and she was so fun to just hang out with!

Megin we had a great time hanging out with you. I hope your recent trip to South Korea was a blast

West Vancouver Portrait Photography | Karen & Johnny

Photographing couples is such an honour to Jamie and I – we love seeing how couple’s interact with one another and how they are together. We were so thrilled to take Karen and Johnny’s pictures. She contacted me and asked if we would take her and Johnny’s pictures because they had never had any official couples photos. I was so excited to do this and naturally we said YES! She confessed that they were both a bit shy and that they would need a lot of direction….. I said no problem we are great at giving direction. But upon meeting them you could instantly see they were in love and when that is the case not a lot of direction is required. They worked so natural together and I think their pictures came out beautifully.

We went down to West Vancouver, which happens to be Karen’s favourite place to be and I can see why!! It is so beautiful and calm. Such a great place for the two of them to have their pictures taken.

Karen and Johnny, we had a great time photographing you and spending the day together.

Ryan and Nicole were so much fun to photograph. You can tell they are so much in love and have so much fun together. We were sure the session was going to have to be re-scheduled because we happened to be right in the middle of a crazy wind storm!!! When we met up with them we all decided we would try to take some pictures first and see how it goes…. and it turned out to be lots of fun! And the wind turned out to more humorous than anything. We got some awesome shots and met a great couple. Thank you again for enduring the wind and hanging out with us guys!! Congrats on your recent engagement too

Coquitlam Portrait Photography | Lisa & Rick

We were recently asked by Lisa and Rick to do some couples photos for them. These kind of photos are so fun to us, so we were definitely up for it. We picked a date and found an awesome location and we were all set. We woke up to pouring rain and really thought it wouldn’t let up, but by the afternoon the rain stopped and the sun peaked its head out (just enough). It turned out to be great weather and we got some awesome shots! Thanks again you guys we hope to do it again

2010 Vancouver Olympics Photography

You know its not everyday that we get to see things such as the passing of the Olympic torch and truthfully I didn’t think I would see it either (not in person anyways). But yesterday was different. I had to go into New Westminster to run a few errands and I noticed that the there was a lot of people hanging around on the sides of the streets. It didn’t take me long to figure out they were waiting for the Olympic torch to come by them. I quickly grabbed my camera (good thing I had it with me) and found a spot on the street along side everyone else. I have to say it was definitely something to see; whether you are a fan of the Olympics or not, being able to witness something like the running and the passing of the torch is special – its not something we will see again. So I thought I would share some pf the photos I caught last minute with you. ENJOY!

We were asked by Melanie to photograph her gorgeous family and I’m so glad we did! This is one great looking family and Jeff and Melanie’s kids are absolutly adorable. After some great family pictures we had to sneak a few of just Melanie and Jeff and WOW you guys look so good together. Thanks again you guys we had so much fun photographing you. We hope to do it again soon!

Vancouver Pet Photography | Tika

Not only do we love photographing families and children, but we also love photographing our own. As most of you know we have a husky who is our baby. Tika, to us, is the shining light in our day and we cant image not having her in our lives. Just like other people who put pictures up of their children, we too needed some nice portraits of Tika to go on our walls. So not too long ago we set out to take some pictures of her, which isn’t easy because she is just so playful and rambunctious! These are qualities that we both love in her, but once we tired her out a bit we were able to capture some absolutely beautiful portraits of her. I know I’m biased, but she is one of the most beautiful dogs and sooooo photogenic Okay onto the photos….
